Mah, eredi ce ne sono in abbondanza (Rhaenyra, Daemon, Rhaenys e tutti i Velaryon), la casata non è certo in pericolo.
La cosa più sensata è fare in modo che Rhaenyra si sposi e abbia dei figli il prima possibile; in alternativa sì, la sua carica di erede andrebbe appoggiata e protetta con ogni mezzo ma è comunque una soluzione molto rischiosa (a meno di non risposarsi con una donna senza alcun appoggio politico, ma non è una cosa molto fattibile per un re).
Il problema è che Daemon è visto come fumo negli occhi da mezzo regno e che Rhaenys e il suo ramo familiare era già stata scartato per il suo essere donna. Col senno di poi, secondo me Viserys avrebbe dovuto convocare un nuovo Gran Concilio dopo la morte di Aemma e far scegliere ai lord un erede irrevocabile.

Lo sbaglio a monte è aver nominato Rhaenyra principessa ereditaria. Doveva nominare Deamon, che nessuno avrebbe osato mettere in discussione come erede, lo propone lo stesso Corlys Velaryon, fatto salvo un nuovo matrimonio e nuovi figli maschi
Non ci sarebbe stato bisogno di nominare Daemon, era già lui l'erede: era proprio quello il problema.

Da un punto di vista de iure l'erede è sempre stata Rhaenyra, non Daemon, e non a caso Ryan Condal in un podcast post-episodio 1 ha specificato che Daemon era un erede presunto e che non hanno approfondito la questione per brevità: Daemon non è mai stato nominato principe di Dragonstone e la tradizione ereditaria vuole che una figlia preceda un fratello in linea di successione.
Daemon era considerato erede de facto sulla base del precedente del Gran Concilio, che però valeva solo per l'eredità di Jaehaerys, non necessariamente per quelle dei re futuri. Semplicemente si dava per scontato che il trono sarebbe andato a Daemon perché lui era maschio e Rhaenyra no.

Secondo me il piano di Otto era di avere un pretesto per uccidere Daemon, motivo per cui ha impedito a Viserys di andare a trattare col fratello. Se Rhaenyra non fosse intervenuta, presumo che avrebbe fatto dietrofront e sarebbe tornato da Viserys per convincerlo a dichiarare guerra al fratello. Però non mi sembra un piano molto intelligente, dato che Daemon ha un drago.

Vista la puntata. Mi confermo l'impressione della prima: è ben fatta, ben sceneggiata e ben recitata. Un ottimo prodotto, che nonostante i continui richiami ed easter eggs mi sembra però avere, come tono e stile, pochi punti in comune con la serie madre, perlomeno in queste prime puntate abbastanza interlocutorie. E' più severa, più sofisticata, però anche carente della varietà di toni e di atmosfere che era uno dei punti di forza di GoT. Non mi riferisco tanto alle ambientazioni "geografiche" quanto alla mancanza di intermezzi di alleggerimento e in generale all'aspetto fiabesco che in GoT era molto più pronunciato, anche nel modo di costruire le scene e i dialoghi. Trovo anche abbastanza difficile, per ora, empatizzare con uno qualunque dei personaggi: era giusto riequilibrare le ragioni delle due fazioni, però di fatto questo succede anche perchè nessuno di loro suscita una gran simpatia, perlomeno dal mio punto di vista.
Considerazioni sparse:
-Mi ha un po' deluso il fatto che la musica della sigla sia rimasta la stessa, mi aspettavo che incorporasse il tema principale ma fosse comunque un po' diversa. Ramin Djavadi è sempre stato bravissimo a mescolare e trasformare i temi delle varie casate e personaggi col tema principale, pensavo che l'avrebbe fatto anche qui. Capisco che è fatto di proposito ma boh, personalmente non l'ho apprezzato.
-Corlys Velaryon: l'attore è bravo, ma più si va avanti più trovo fuori contesto che sia nero. Tutte queste storie sul puro sangue di Valyria sinceramente fanno un po' ridere, mi chiedo come faranno a giustificare le illazioni sui tre figli di Rhaenyra o se si limiteranno ad eliminarle dalla trama...
-Daemon fin qui mi sembra il personaggio più centrato: perfetto come aspetto e come recitazione, bastardo ma affascinante al punto giusto.
-Mi piace anche Rhaenys, l'attrice è molto brava e credibile nonostante l'aspetto un po' troppo da Genoveffa la racchia.
-Bene anche Viserys: Paddy Considine è bravissimo e riesce a rendere molto più comprensibili le sue ragioni. A me non sembra così fesso dopotutto, poveretto, è solo meno cinico degli altri e in questo senso mi fa una certa tenerezza. Direi che è l'unico per cui provo una certa empatia, nonostante tutte le cavolate che fa 
Con i Velaryon che a quel punto appoggiano probabilmente Daemon e col solo drago Syrax poco più che cucciola la vedo dura andare contro Daemon e Caraxes
@Pongiriguardo ai figli di Rhaenyra secondo me ometteranno la presunta bastardaggine omettendo anche il presunto amante. A meno che non s'inventano Strong di colore
