Il fatto è che la storia di Jon è conclusa, il finale ce lo lascia immaginare a rifarsi una vita Oltre (la ex) Barriera trovando finalmente la pace. Ritirarlo in ballo peggiorerebbe la già non ottimale conclusione del suo arco narrativo. Perchè, come giustamente si sono già chiesti altri, cosa gli fai fare?
Una serie molto più interessante potrebbe essere incentrata su Valyria, mostrarci questa civiltà così avanzata e raffinata al culmine del suo potere e magari accompagnarci verso il Disastro - ma solo se il Maestro ha già abbozzato qualcosa in merito, che se bisogna aspettare che scriva qualcosa appositamente per la serie non se ne esce più.

Secondo un vecchio leak di The Dragon Demands, che però non è mai stato ufficialmente confermato, c'era una serie in lavorazione su Valyria, con tanto di "bibbia" dettagliata sulla struttura sociale dell'impero, ma poi non se n'è fatto nulla.

Oddio, meglio di no. Il Corvo a Tre Occhi, la profezia, il Principe che fu Promesso, alla fine è venuto fuori che era fumo e basta.
Per com'è stata gestita la fine della serie, qualunque cosa imbastiscano sui personaggi principali, eccetto Sansa e forse Arya (forse!), sarà abbastanza problematico. Non penso sia un caso che i progetti già confermati siano tutti prequel.
Qualunque sequel coerente col finale della serie se fatto col beneplacito di Martin sarebbe una conferma che il "suo" finale sarà lo stesso. Per cui delle due l'una, o i sequel verrebbero realizzati contro la volontà di Martin (cosa di cui dubito), o verrebbero realizzati col suo assenso, spoilerando di fatto il destino del relativo personaggio anche nei libri. A me entrambe le ipotesi sembrano poco probabili, quindi tendo a pensare che non ci sarà nessun sequel.
Non sono d'accordo, non confermerebbe nulla. Per quanto ci possano essere dei grossi punti di contatto, il finale di GOT non è il finale di ASOIAF; GOT non è ASOIAF, è una versione alternativa.
Martin potrebbe dare il suo assenso e persino collaborare al sequel, ma la storia televisiva resterebbe separata da quella cartacea: lo spinoff sarebbe praticamente una fanfiction ufficiale che proseguirebbe, per giunta, un adattamento già libero di suo.
Fun fact: all'inizio di GOT Martin disse che gli autori della serie potevano inserire addirittura alieni e vampiri, perché il contratto in essere glielo consentiva!

E quindi confermi tu stesso che a Martin le fan fiction stanno bene quando lo si paga profumatamente per farle.
Anche io comunque tendo a pensare che di sequel non ne vedremo molto presto.

Considerato che molte trame e alcuni personaggi rilevanti sono stati tagliati e semplificati in GOT, non capisco perché non si possa parlare di GOT come una versione alternativa di ASOIAF. Gli esiti dei personaggi principali saranno stati probabilmente simili a quelli che GRRM ha in testa, ma il come ci si arriva per me fa differenza.
