La fonte che parlava di John Macmillan sul set era stata ritenuta inattendibile. Al momento la presenza di Laenor non è confermata.

Magari lo fanno riapparire proprio per introdurre Addam e Alyn, per poi uscire di scena definitivamente (anche se è difficile trovare una soluzione che dia un senso alla cosa). In caso contrario se ne fregheranno della cosa e Addam lo cavalcherà lo stesso, anche se dai libri si deduce che il legame drago/cavaliere possa spezzarsi solo con la morte del secondo o di uno dei due in generale.

Come si può intuire dal mio nickname simpatizzo per i neri, ma questa scelta su Laenor mi è proprio parsa una mossa per rendere più positivi i personaggi di Rhaenyra e Daemon, e non vorrei che la serie faccia passare forzatamente questo messaggio.
Laenor puo benissimo essere morto off screen.

Però potrebbero eventualmente specificarlo, dato che al momento della semina scommetto che verrà menzionato da chi era stato cavalcato Seasmoke e quindi gli spettatori potrebbero chiedersi perché Addam riesce a cavalcare un drago che in teoria ha già un cavaliere. Ovviamente potrebbero pure ignorare del tutto la cosa (molti spettatori probabilmente non ricordano neanche che Laenor aveva un drago o quale fosse), ma Condal sembra fare attenzione a certi dettagli della lore.
A mio avviso se volevano Laenor vivo potevano anche non fargli cavalcare Seasmoke. E nella terza puntata al posto di Seasmoke ci mettevano o Rhaenys su Meleys o Laena su Vhagar.

Non viene detto, anche perché tecnicamente un drago accetta più cavalieri ma non contemporaneamente. Immagino però che la cosa verrà specificata quando Joffrey proverà a cavalcare Syrax, con le conseguenze che conosciamo.

Il Podcast del Ghiaccio e del Fuoco ha probabilmente risolto il mistero del perché in HOTD il drago sullo stemma Targaryen di Viserys I ha quattro zampe (come quello delle ultime stagioni di GOT) invece di due (come in ASOIAF e nelle prime stagioni di GOT).
Guardando il simbolo personale di Aegon II, il drago dorato con due zampe, e quello di Rhaenyra, il drago rosso a quattro zampe di suo padre Viserys I, possiamo ipotizzare che nel canone televisivo:
1) prima della Danza il drago Targaryen fosse a quattro zampe;
2) dopo la Danza il drago rosso fosse passato ad avere due zampe, per conciliare i simboli dei Neri e dei Verdi;
3) nelle prime stagioni di GOT il drago fosse a due zampe, per poi tornare a quattro con l'ascesa di Daenerys, che evidentemente si è rifatta a Rhaenyra.
In questo modo Ryan Condal avrebbe corretto la confusione presente in GOT tra i due tipi di drago.
