Sì ma io credo che ai suoi editori gli fornisca il materiale, per far sapere almeno a loro a che punto è. Ok la riscrittura, ma dire "ho completato 60 capitoli, anche se potrei modificarne o riscriverne diversi" sarebbe un aggiornamento più preciso e concreto rispetto a sparare percentuali che dicono poco o nulla.

Finito TWOW, sono quasi sicuro che la piccola parte della scrittura (perchè la tv avrà sempre la priorità), sarà dedicata ai racconti di D&E, che vuole scrivere da tanto tempo e che si appresta a diventare la prossima serie HBO sul mondo di ASOIAF.
Nel frattempo, può anche darsi che lavori a F&B, che è forse l'unica opera che può terminare (perchè non credo possa scrivere tutti i racconti di D&E che vorrebbe per arrivare alla conclusione).
Ci sono buone possibilità che ADOS non lo inizi nemmeno, sapendo che non arriverà mai a terminarlo (anche se non lo ammetterà mai).
In ogni caso ASOIAF come già detto diverse volte ha bisogno di TWOW per essere ricordata e per rendere chiaro almeno un po' il senso della storia.

Alcune illustrazioni sembrano puntare a Winds in effetti, ma altre sono in linea con i calendari precedenti mi pare (Arya nei sotterranei della Fortezza Rossa è un'immagine che c'è anche in TWOIAF da quello che ricordo). Poi gli aggiornamenti (anzi i mancati aggiornamenti) degli ultimi mesi non mi dicono nulla.
Come al solito un ringraziamento doveroso nei confronti di @Jacaerys Velaryonche continua a tenere vivo con i suoi continui aggiornamenti l'interesse nei confronti del mondo e dell'universo letterario e non di Asoiaf.
L'illustrazione di Lyanna e Rhaegar ricorda molto e sembra quasi un tributo all'incontro fortuito tra Beren e Luthien nel Silmarillion di Tolkien. Un incontro decisivo per le sorti della Terra di Mezzo, la prima unione tra un uomo mortale e una giovane donna di stirpe elfica immortale(che eredita dalla madre Melian anche il sangue degli Ainur, il sangue degli dei che governano Arda)e da cui provengono la stirpe dei mezzi elfi e soprattutto le varie casate reali degli uomini di Numenor, dei Dunedain che governano Arnor e Gondor, quindi Aragorn, ecc.) e che riflette anche sul piano privato la storia d'amore tra Tolkien e la giovane donna che diventerà poi sua moglie. Mi scuso per questa premessa lunga, tediosa ma assolutamente doverosa e vado al nocciolo della questione. Cosa ci vuole dire e comunicare GRRM che ha commissionato personalmente questo calendario come fa ogni anno( ed è probabilmente lo stesso Martin a scegliere anche i soggetti)con questa illustrazione di Lyanna e Rhaegar? Una conferma dei natali di Jon Snow? Direi di no sarebbe una conferma ridondante e quindi inutile..
Una conferma che Jon Snow sia parte o avrà un ruolo marginale o chiave nella Canzone del Ghiaccio e del Fuoco?Potrebbe essere anche se si tratta di una teoria ormai nota da decenni.

Concordo. Riguardo a Rhaegar/Lyanna, penso che Jon sarà in qualche modo decisivo, quindi l'incontro tra i suoi genitori ha cambiato il destino di Westeros. Non mi aspetto però che Jon sia il sovrano finale della storia come Aragorn lo è in Lotr; da quel punto di vista si può parlare di sovvertimento del topos.
