Il maggior successo di Benioff è stato la sceneggiatura di La 25a ora, anche se persone più informate di me in materia mi raccontano che entrò in contrasto con Spike Lee perché voleva tagliare molti passi del suo romanzo, cosa che il regista impedì. Evidentemente il vizio di semplificare eccessivamente le trame lo aveva già ai tempi.

GRRM auspica per la fine del 2024. Lo spettacolo teatrale dovrebbe essere incentrato sul torneo di Harrenhal.

Va bene tutto, ma lo spettacolo non può assolutamente uscire prima di TWOW. Non è questione di priorità è proprio questione di spoiler grossi come macigni, via. Monetizzare il più possibile ok, ma non fino a questo punto.
Neanche il finale di GoT sarebbe dovuto uscire prima di TWOW, eppure eccoci qua.

Anche la seconda stagione di Hotd potrebbe contenere degli spoiler e non mi pare che Martin si sia posto il problema.
Nell'ultimo post sul blog Martin dice che il 2023 è stato un anno pessimo sul piano professionale (oltre che personale). Non cita TWOW in tutto il post, ma secondo me non ci sono stati grandi progressi (infatti è stato molto più silenzioso rispetto agli aggiornamenti del 2022).

Sulle guerre e il rischio atomico forse troppo pessimista, ma i danni da cambiamento climatico sembrano ormai inarrestabili.
Sorvola su TWOW, ed è ormai chiaro che non ci stia molto dietro, e noi rimaniamo con quel "forse a marzo 2025 il mio libro non sarà ancora uscito" che aveva detto durante l'intervista con quell'altra scrittrice. Direi nessuna speranza di pubblicazione quest'anno.

Mi ha colpito la parte in cui sembra quasi dire "è inutile che scrivo storie se tanto ciò che ho scritto non ha cambiato la mente delle persone facendole riflettere su questioni della vita reale". Qualcuno però potrebbe far notare a Martin che è un po' complicato interrogarsi sul senso di un'opera se quell'opera è incompleta (alcune riflessioni si possono fare comunque, ma non sarà mai la stessa cosa).
