Leggendo i vostri commenti mi sono reso conto di aver letto altri libri, solo che me li sono dimenticati... Tipo Kafka ed Hesse sì che li ho letti, e neanche tanto tempo fa! E anche di Calvino ho letto I sentieri dei nidi di ragno e Il barone rampante, scalfendo però solo la superficie della sua opera... In ogni caso non ho proprio una memoria di ferro! Altri libri invece li ho iniziati ma li ho lasciati a metà essendo un incostante del menga... Direi che grazie alle vostre liste comunque avrò da leggere per un secolo visto il mio ritmo di lettura!

Punto sui romanzi più che altro, poi mi specializzerei nei vari altri campi (poesia, gialli, eccetera). E non avvicinandomi troppo ai nostri tempi (a parte con i latinoamericani per cui è inevitabile). Ma già adesso le tue indicazioni sono preziosissime, soprattutto per la letteratura francese dove brancolo più del buio!

In ogni caso Sepulveda mi sembra un buon inizio, di lui ho scoperto in libreria di avere La lampada di Aladino. In ogni caso praticamente tutti mi avete citato Cent'anni di solitudine quindi per questa categoria partirò proprio da lì

Ma no, in realtà ci si può spingere almeno fino a metà Novecento. Considerando che ormai sono passati più di cinquanta anni un canone o comunque un'opinione comune su quali siano gli autori più importanti si è formata... Per tempi recenti intendo praticamente il presente e il passato più prossimo. Sono sicuro di non essermi ancora una volta spiegato bene...
Aldilà dei titoli, fatti un giro in biblioteca e curiosa tra gli scaffali. Così puoi godere anche un po' dell'effetto sorpresa.
Oppure se le hai ancora tira fuori le antologie delle superiori: sicuramente hanno tutti i principali per generi o periodi, con relativi brani di esempio. In questo modo vedi subito se è qualcosa che può essere di tuo gusto e nelle tue corde e puoi passare al libro. Di solito hanno anche le proposte di lettura con titoli e autori ulteriori sempre per periodi o generi.
E' sempre un dispiacere che quando tutti i lupi dovrebbero sollevarsi, un posto possa rimanere vuoto.
