Le premesse erano sicuramente che fosse un volume al livello dei primi tre, ma secondo me più la data della pubblicazione si allontana più anche questo diventa improbabile. Perché il calo di ispirazione, la pressione dei fans e della casa editrice, la fatica per venire a capo di un compito che probabilmente ormai gli fa venire la nausea non sono certamente il preupposto per un'opera coesa, organica e ispirata. In più, avete voglia a dire che la serie non è la saga e quello che è successo in tv non conta, ma di fatto per tutti i lettori che Martin ha acquisito dopo GOT la storia è quella, è già nota e lui non può non esserne condizionato. Se anche TWOW dovesse uscire (e non credo proprio che succederà) temo che sarebbe pieno di bei passaggi ma farraginoso e ridondante nel complesso, come i due volumi che l'hanno preceduto.
Secondo me se uscirà TWOW sarà bello almeno quanto ADOS, anche se non so quanto definitivo. Spero vivamente che risolva vari nodi di trama, altrimenti l'idea delle tre trilogie di cui mi pare aveva parlato @Neshira in passato non risulterà più così peregrina.

Per non far diventare un'odissea anche ADOS (che, dando per buono che manchino al massimo due anni all'uscita di TWOW, penso vedremo tra sei o sette - a voler essere iper ottimisti), credo che TWOW dovrà risolvere, non dico tutte, ma la stragrande maggioranza delle varie trame e sottotrame ancora aperte.
A questo ritmo Martin potrebbe impiegare altri 7 anni se fa un anno di pausa da twow per ogni 2-3 mesi che scrive

La notizia che tutti stavamo aspettando, no? Insomma, sono anni che ci chiediamo se Martin avesse intenzione di produrre Night of the Cooters, meno male che ci ha sollevati da questo dubbio.
Sembra quasi che GRRM voglia spingerci a leggere autori a lui cari per tenerci distratti durante l'attesa di TWOW.
