Ci credo che gli è difficile poi cucire e sistemare tutto e deve tagliare/riscrivere un sacco.
E' sempre un dispiacere che quando tutti i lupi dovrebbero sollevarsi, un posto possa rimanere vuoto.

Beh sono in pochi ad usare il punto di vista, ed è uno dei punti di forza dell' opera quindi che la usi pure e ci metta il tempo che serve
Le cose per criticarlo sono altre ,e guarda caso tutte connesse alla serie tv
Si cerca sempre di togliere la serie tv dall' equazione, ma è come non considerare l'epidemia in rapporto al pil di quest'anno
Se non ricordo male la scrittura di GRRM procede per POV: in pratica lui rilegge tutti i capitoli di un determinato personaggio nei libri precedenti per "calarsi nel ruolo", poi butta giù l'intera storyline del pg nel nuovo libro. Finito il pg, passa a un altro, e così via. Ne consegue che per combinare fra loro tutte le trame il processo di revisione e di riscrittura è lunghissimo.

Si esatto, anche io sapevo che scriveva un personaggio per calarsi nella parte fino a un certo punto, e così per tutti i personaggi fino ad arrivare ad un certo punto, e poi riprendeva dal punto in cui si era interrotto e così avanti fino ad un altro stop e alla fine del libro. Dopo li suddivide in capitoli e cerca di far coincidere i dettagli, per quello calcolavo a livello di tempo un mese.. Fra la scrittura, l'estrapolazione di un capitolo dal PoV generale e la collimazione con gli altri PoV richiede tempo...

Il problema è la riscrittura.
Oggi potrebbe mancargli un solo capitolo per finire, poi domattina si sveglia e decide che venti capitoli che aveva completato non vanno più bene e sono da rifare.

Sì se uno usa il metodo (?) che usa lui. Tra l'altro è anche ad ampio rischio di incongruenze. Che disorganizzazione!

Da quella disorganizzazione escono fuori le storie che ci piacciono ,quindi cosa si vorrebbe criticare ?
Lo vogliamo organizzato e veloce ?
Uscirebbero libri che raccontano storie scheletriche su personaggi principali insulsi

Be al momento, o almeno da circa 10 anni, direi che NON escono 
quindi qualche perplessità magari è legittima.

Quindi ti aspetti 1500 pagine di intrighi e aneddoti, non un resoconto spicciolo di eventi
la cosa peggiore di questo ritardo è che sembra bloccare anche le novelle di D&E che magari gli verrebbero più in fretta e più facilmente ... secondo voi riuscirà a trovare un escamotage per mandarle avanti in modo indipendente?

da quel modo di scrivere sono derivate anche varie sottotrame che poteva evitare e che gli avranno incasinato la stesura di TWOW in modo notevole...

Ma perché doveva evitarle? A lui piacciono e anche a me ,fosse per me gli consiglerei di aumentare le sottotrame e i nuovi pg, uccidendo i vecchi soprattutto se importanti nella serie tv
Le innumerevoli sottotrame di AFFC e ADWD sono indubbiamente un piacere da leggere (penso alla questione Blackfyre, ad esempio), ma diventano un problema nel momento in cui Martin non riesce ad ordinarle.
