Ok ok, forse ho capito qualcosa.
Il film culto del cinema muto è Nosferatu ;) e il film con Defoe è L'ombra del Vampiro in cui c'è anche John Malkovich che interpreta Murnau.
Quindi il regista in questione è Merhige.
E il film dovrebbe essere Begotten... devo assolutamente recuperarlo, sembra agghiacciante!
L'ombra del vampiro è splendido come film, se lo trovo recupererò sicuramente anche questo Merthige.

Anche se l'immagine non mi dice niente, dopo questi indizi posso sparare Munich di Spilberg.

Altro aiuto: il titolo del film è anche un appellativo che venne assunto da un importante personaggio storico.

Chiedo scusa per non aver risposto a Eddard, comunque non è nemmeno questo. Non è un film americano o nemmeno parzialmente, nè inglese, nè parlato in lingua inglese. Posso aggiungere che il regista del film ne sta ora girando uno con protagonista un importante star di Hollywood.

Nein. Anche se come indizi ci poteva stare. Aggiungo che nel titolo del film è contenuto anche il nome di battesimo del protagonista, che è anche una persona realmente esistita.
