I hope to wrap up the story line for one of the viewpoint characters of WINDS OF WINTER this week. Maybe even two.
In effetti un mese fa aveva dichiarato che diversi personaggi, tra cui Tyrion, erano prossimi alla fine.

Se la memoria non mi inganna i POV ancora vivi (considerando Jon Snow tra questi) sono venti, ma il numero di capitoli per ognuno di essi è tutto da vedere (per esempio, alcuni personaggi potrebbero non avere capitoli POV, o averne pochi, ed essere osservati dall'esterno da altri POV vicini).

Quelli confermati ( di cui Martin ha parlato negli anni, nei suoi aggiornamenti ) dovrebbero essere: Tyrion, Barristan, Victarion, Daenerys ( anche se ne ha parlato l' ultima volta nel 2013/4 mi pare, da allora nulla ), Arya, Areo Hotah, Arianne, Aeron, Sam, Cersei, Jaime, Brienne, Sansa ( di Sansa ha pubblicato il capitolo nel 2015, poi mai più menzionata ), Asha, Theon, Melisandre, Bran ( Martin ha detto di aver spostato un capitolo da Dance a Winds ), Davos ( citato indirettamente parlando degli unicorni di Skagos ), Jon Connington. L' unico che non ha mai citato direttamente o indirettamente è Jon, per ovvi motivi, ma non è detto che non abbia suoi pov nel libro. Per TWOW quindi dovremmo avere almeno un capitolo per ciascun pov ancora vivo, anche se Martin potrebbe aver cambiato idea negli anni.
Sperando che non ci rimetta mano, se non per qualche frase, ciò vorrebbe dire che per alcuni è alla fine del libro (o della loro vita
), quindi quantomeno siamo nell'elaborazione della seconda metà del libro nella teoria, chissà dai, voglio pensare positivo...

Ragazzi anche se fosse vero, stiamo parlando di un arco di un personaggio (forse 2) su tipo 20. Non significa per niente aver quasi finito o essere a metà del libro. E sottolineo anche se fosse vero, dopo tutti questi anni io non prenderei per buone le uscite del soggetto. Oltretutto non è un po' curioso che arrivi questa bella notiziola a stretto giro dalla premiere di HOTD?
E' sempre un dispiacere che quando tutti i lupi dovrebbero sollevarsi, un posto possa rimanere vuoto.

Puo' sembrare sospetto, quello senz'altro.
Ad ogni modo per la scrittura di un libro/documento io ragiono come per la realizzazione di un puzzle: quando cominciano ad entrare i pezzi e la forma si delinea, mettere i pezzi rimamenti è progressivamente sempre più semplice.
In ogni caso uno dei due personaggi dovrebbe essere Tyrion, di cui aveva parlato recentemente: non certo un personaggio qualunque.

Esatto. Sono 20 pov ma non penso che tutti avranno lo stesso numero di capitoli. Tyrion probabilmente sarà tra quelli che ne avrà di più ( visti anche i libri precedenti ) e concludere Tyrion non è come concludere Areo Hotah o Aeron Greyjoy che avranno 2/3 capitoli ciascuno. Che la concomitanza con Hotd possa sembrare sospetta ci sta, ma il "trucco" eventualmente verrà smascherato se non ci saranno più aggiornamenti per mesi dopo ottobre.
E non solo in termini "numerici". Ipotizzando che alla fine di TWOW Tyrion si unisca a Dany concludere i suoi capitoli è probabilmente un buon segno anche per diversi altri personaggi e la storia in generale.
Voglio dire, mi pare strano concludere tutti i suoi capitoli senza aver come minimo deciso dove andrà la trama nella parte di storia in cui è coinvolto.
Uno potrebbe quasi pensare che tutta la porzione di TWOW riguardante Essos/Dany/Tyrion sia quasi alla fine del processo di scrittura.
Poi, come ben sappiamo, puo' succedere di tutto: non si sta riferendo a Tyrion, si blocca di nuovo e riparte da capo, sta mentendo, si blocca su altre porzioni di trama su cui invece si sentiva sicuro etc etc. Ma, stando a quanto dichiarato su TWOW negli ultimi mesi, mi pare che qualcosa sia successo.

Questa è l' ipotesi più ottimistica. Ok che Martin ha il suo processo di scrittura, ma anche me sembra strano che riesca a scrivere di Tyrion che incontra/parla con Daenerys senza aver messo mano per niente ai capitoli precedenti di Daenerys o senza avere idea di quello che è capitato a Daenerys prima di raggiungere Tyrion. Aggiungendo Barristan e Victarion che potrebbero interagire con Tyrion se non muoiono in battaglia, il fronte Essos potrebbe essere quasi ultimato ( anche Arya a Braavos l' ha citata diverse volte ).
Io ho sempre pensato che per certi personaggi pov, tipo Dany o Sansa o Bran, non abbia mai avuto alcun dubbio su che strada prendere e su dove voleva arrivare. Magari è per questo che sono assenti da anni nei suoi post, perchè le loro storyline per TWOW sono belle che concluse. Si tratta solo, si fa per dire, di incastrarle con quelle ancora in fase di scrittura.
Lo so... sono un inguaribile ottimista, non posso farci niente!
