Dato che nella discussione sui film appena visti poteva essere un po' OT e l'argomento sembra interessante, apro questa discussione specifica, sperando che effettivamente ci sarà una saga cinematografica sui romanzi di Herbert che approfondisca le conseguenze del recente film di Villeneuve. Ovviamente nella discussione si può parlare anche dei libri, ma chiederei di coprire i maggiori dettagli di trama con lo spoiler, mentre si può parlare liberamente senza spoiler del film (e di quelli futuri quando e se usciranno).

Senza dubbio opportuno il riferimento ad Asimov a inizio articolo. Cito un passaggio tratto da una monografia su Herbert:

In che senso? A me sembra che averli resi tutti glabri, pallidi e vestiti di plastica sia un modo per far capire la loro natura rigida, marziale e anche un po' viscida.
E' sempre un dispiacere che quando tutti i lupi dovrebbero sollevarsi, un posto possa rimanere vuoto.

In realtà hai capito bene. Gli harkonnen degli anni 80 sono, a livello estetico, normali aristocratici. Nel nuovo film hanno accentuato molto l'oscurità del loro mondo, il fatto che pure i loro servitori sono glabri e pallidi, oltre a dotarli di vesti stile sith
Diciamo che rispetto al film anni 80 hanno cercato di caratterizzare un po'di più le varie culture, solo che gli Atreides sono ancora molto umani perché alla fine sono i protagonisti e ci si deve empatizzare, gli Harkonnen sono stati resi anche visivamente più antipatici. Poi in realtà non vediamo molte altre casate e pianeti e per questo secondo me non c'è granché lore in Dune, in piú se avete notato c'è un forte intento a spersonalizzare con i volti spesso velati e nascosti. Peccato per l'imperatore e famiglia, spero compaiano più avanti.

Ottimo, mi sarei stupita molto se non l'avessero fatto.
per fortuna...lasciare un film simile senza la parte seconda sarebbe stato un delitto.
Spweiamo non sorgano problemi per lo stacco perché comunque fare 2 parti separate a distanza di tempo può essere sempre un rischio.

Io spero anche che correggano un pó il tiro (meno sguardi nel vuoto e piú carne al fuoco) perché comunque é stato un buon film sotto diversi punti di vista.
Ai recenti Oscar Dune ha vinto sei statuette: miglior montaggio, miglior scenografia, miglior fotografia, migliori effetti speciali, miglior sonoro e miglior colonna sonora originale.
Ottimo, più che meritati 
Migliore colonna sonora? Perbacco, non me ne voglia @Euron Gioiagrigia, ma davvero non lo avrei mai detto, l'ho detestata dalla prima all'ultima scena.
La prossima volta che lo vedró ci faró caso, magari non ero dell'umore
