L'autore del video aveva in mente di mettere la teoria per iscritto, ma non l'ha ancora pubblicata, per cui sono incerto se valga effettivamente la pena realizzare un thread specifico.
Su un altro thread scrissi questa cosa, che in pratica è un riassunto della teoria:
È acclarato che i sogni di drago esistessero anche a Valyria, quando c'erano centinaia di draghi nel mondo. L'anomalia sta nel fatto che prima dell'estinzione dei draghi si fa menzione di una sola sognatrice, Daenys, che per giunta è descritta come abile profetessa, mentre dopo l'estinzione abbiamo numerosi personaggi che hanno visioni, spesso mal interpretate e che conducono a disastri. Singolare è il caso di Daenerys, che inizia a sognare quando entra in contatto con tre uova e smette di sognare (a parte visioni di Quaithe ed Eterni) proprio dopo aver riportato in vita i draghi.
La succitata teoria afferma, in breve, che i sogni di drago sono una prerogativa dei portatori del sangue draconico che, però, non hanno reclamato draghi come cavalcature. I draghi sono "valvole di sfogo" della magia del sangue draconico; solitamente questa magia viene incanalata dai valyriani attraverso il controllo dei loro draghi, ma quando questo controllo manca si verifica un "sovraccarico di energia": i sogni sono questo sovraccarico, e possono portare alla follia e alla rovina chi li ha. Inoltre, il tema ricorrente dei sogni è lo schiudersi di uova, un indizio che essi sono anche il mezzo attraverso cui la magia spinge i portatori del sangue draconico a far nascere draghi per stabilire la connessione di sangue.
A Valyria, siccome i draghi abbondavano, i sogni erano probabilmente una rarità, e comunque le conoscenze magiche erano maggiori, per cui erano più facilmente gestibili e interpretabili. A Westeros, invece, la situazione cambiò, ma solo dopo che i draghi si estinsero.

Alla luce delle informazioni contenute in HOTD, che potrebbero in tutto o in parte venire da GRRM, la teoria di Egg della Cittadella potrebbe essere aggiornata, considerato che essa è precedente alla serie.
Nel video la distinzione tra cavalieri di drago e sognatori di drago è vista come netta, mentre in HOTD sembra una cosa più sfumata, in quanto Aegon I ed Helaena risultano essere sognatori pur cavalcando draghi.

@Jacaerys VelaryonIeri sera ho visto il video (un po’ l’ho dormito, ma il senso generale mi è arrivato 
). Confermo che non mi dispiace come teoria e che mi trova abbastanza d’accordo, pur non essendo totalmente persuasa, soprattutto per la ricostruzione circa la presenza dei Sognatori pre e post Disastro (su cui infra).
Per quanto riguarda l’eventuale aggiornamento della teoria medesima: Aegon I Sognatore e al contempo cavalcatore di draghi mi sembra ipotesi condivisibile e coerente, soprattutto per la maggior purezza del sangue di Drago e per quanto dirò appresso.
Invece, su Helaena (dal sangue draconico più diluito, per quanto ancora forte) ho più di un dubbio: il suo essere Sognatrice é, a mio avviso, finalizzato alla sola serie TV.
Vero che F&B è redatto da un Maestro - che in quanto tale cerca di minimizzare ”i poteri” dei Targaryen (e che trovo anche piuttosto misogino) - ma è altrettanto vero che il medesimo Maestro non lesina a Daenys l’appellativo di Sognatrice, pur nella asettica ricostruzione dei fatti (cui forse vuol dare un sapore di leggenda).
In relazione a Daenys medesima, non v’è alcun motivo (o almeno, per quanto a mia conoscenza) per non ritenerla, al contempo, sia Sognatrice sia Cavalcatrice di Draghi: tale connubio, a mio avviso, non doveva essere insolito prima del Disastro, per due motivi principali:
1) estrema purezza del sangue (in questo caso Targaryen) nel periodo valyriano;
2) Aenar L’Esule, non appena avuta contezza della visione di Daenys, si affretta a “tagliare la corda”; questo comportamento è assai sintomatico (sempre IMHO) del fatto che i Sognatori fossero diffusi - e tra i Cavalcatori di Draghi - anche nel periodo valyriano.
Successivamente, man mano che il Sangue di Drago ha perso purezza, si è accentuata la distinzione tra Sognatori (privi di Drago) e Cavalcatori (non Sognatori o ex Sognatori, come Daenerys).
