Appunto, realismo non è mica solo scrivere di personaggi con una psicologia complessa che però poi compiono imprese al limite del ridicolo (e ricito Arya).
Altro discorso ancora è creare un mondo che rimanga coerente con sé stesso.
E' sempre un dispiacere che quando tutti i lupi dovrebbero sollevarsi, un posto possa rimanere vuoto.

Ma personalmente penso che il mondo di martin sia finora coerente con se stesso e in questo mondo la magia esiste eccome ( cioè nel secondo libro melisandre partorisce ombre assassine che incidono in modo determinante sul corso degli eventi della guerra dei 5 re, quindi se Euron userà la magia non sarà né la prima né l unica volta che la vedremo ).

Nel POV di Aeron è ricorrente l'espressione "rusted hinges", ossia cardini arruginati. È un concetto presente anche nei capitoli di Davos, Tyrion, Bran, Jon e Quentyn ed è spesso associato alla fine di una prigionia e alle torri. Anche in altre opere di GRRM è comune il riferimento a porte che si aprono e risvegliano entità terribili.
Sono probabili allusioni a un attacco di Euron agli Hightower e al conseguente scatenarsi di White Walkers e forse anche mostri marini.

Fra l'altro questa è una tematica molto lovecraftiana, ed è noto quante citazioni allo scrittore di Providence abbia messo Martin nelle sue opere. Tutto ciò che gira attorno a Euron è molto inquietante e lovecraftiano, anche se non credo vedremo deep ones e cose troppo strane, che rimarranno solo parte dello sfondo. Ma che Euron apra le porte agli Estranei con le sue azioni è possibile, anche se occorrerebbe capirne le motivazioni (è indottrinato stile Razziatori di Mass Effect? Ha stretto degli accordi con loro?).

In altre occasioni avevo scritto che secondo me Euron ritiene di essere Azor Ahai, ma in un'accezione opposta a quella di salvatore del mondo. Lui vuole far precipitare il mondo nell'apocalisse ed emergerne come una divinità.

I ragazzi del canale fanno varie ipotesi su quanto possa avvenire a inizio TWOW, tra cui una tempesta devastatrice (ipotesi che condivido), l'attacco di kraken risvegliati dalle profondità marine o (ipotesi che io trovo affascinante) la possibilità che un'enorme alta marea sommerga Vecchia Città trasformandola in una nuova Atlantide.
Fra l'altro il video spiega anche il ruolo di Falia Flowers, la donna messa incinta da Euron: il figlio che lei ha in grembo ha sangue di re (Euron è re delle Isole di Ferro) e quindi, secondo le teorie di Melisandre, rende il sacrificio più potente.

Interessante però secondo me Euron vuole qualcosa a Vecchia città ( forse il libro "La morte dei draghi", vecchie pergamene su Azor Ahai ecc ). Quindi l' alta marea al massimo dovrebbe scatenarsi dopo che Euron fa quello che deve fare.
Sono d'accordo. Credo che prima sconfiggerà le difese di Oldtown, poi prenderà il libro sui draghi trovato da Jaqen e suonerà il corno portato da Sam, e infine spazzerà via la città. Forse "Morte dei draghi" contiene qualche informazione per tenere sotto scacco Daenerys, Drogon e Rhaegal.
