L'attore del film che compare anche nel MCU è ovviamente Kurt Russell (che ha un ruolo in Guardiani della Galassia 2), il film è chiaramente distopico, dopo una cattiva accoglienza al botteghino ora è considerato un cult, e nel finale il protagonista prende una decisione davvero radicale e nichilista per uscire dall'impasse che si era creata.
