E la tua citazione è la versione "volgare" (e raccontata da Victor Hugo) dell'altra "la guardia muore ma non si arrende"....peccato che anche quest'ultima sia assolutamente falsa: a Waterloo, Cambronne si arrese.
Cambronne fu ferito, e la guardia non si arrese se non dopo ore di estenuante battaglia... diciamo che moltissimi componenti della guardia "onorarono" il motto

No....Sordi avrebbe avuto sufficiente umiltà per ammettere di non potersi elevare sopra la grammatica, e non si sarebbe mai auto-definito "re di roma". Totti mi sembra abbastanza stupido per poterlo fare....ma non credo sia lui.
