Adeleas Namelle

Allegiance: The Light, The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. She was in voluntary retreat with her sister, Vandene, in Tifan's Well - a farming commmunity in Arafel. They had been gathering knowledge for many years with the intention of writing the history of the world. Few in the White Tower remembered them, however Moiraine was one of them.

When the Tower split they decided to join those in Salidar. They travelled to Ebou Dar with Elayne and Nynaeve. When Ispan was captured, Adeleas and Vandene started interigating her.

The Bowl of Winds was found and used, and they were travelling towards Caemlyn continuing with the questioning of Ispan. Adeleas was found with her throat cut, next to a gruesomely murdered Ispan. Her killer is believed to be Merilille, Sareitha or Careane. The WOT FAQ has some very interesting theories on the situation.

Akarrin

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Egwene. Slim.

Dannelle

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Elaida. Young and slim with big blue eyes. Like all browns she can be dreamy, liking nothing better than an old book. Under Siuan Sanche, she was in charge of the library extensions.

She was a part of Elaida's coup. However she has few friends and hardly noticed when she was no longer included in Elaida's council.

Demira Eriff

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Egwene. A coppery skinned Domani, she is happy that Rand has started a school. Whe was in the Salidar Embassy to Rand. Her Warder is Stevan.

Doraise Meianos

She was mentioned in aCoS as the oldest Accepted in the White Tower at over forty years old. She only looks in her mid twenties. She has since been raised.

Escaralde

Egwene. Not strong enough in the One Power to make ter'angreal but insisted Elayne teach her. Approximately 70.

Felaana Bevaine

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Slim and yellow haired. She was alive soon after the Aiel War.

Gabrelle

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

An upturned nose and sooty green eyes with a dusky look. She was a member of the expedition sent by Elaida to take the Black Tower. They were led by Toveine, and were all captured by Asha'man. Gabrelle was bonded by Logain, and decided to sleep with him, hoping to glean some information from him - although she is enjoying it.

Janya Frende

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Egwene. Pretty and slender with very short dark hair, but continually frowns, squinting in thought with her birdlike pale blue eyes. She is very neat and tidy and speaks quickly.

Juilaine Madome

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. Tall and attractive with short black hair. She was raised to the Hall after the split, being hand picked by Jesse Bilal, which is unusual.

Jesse Bilal

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Head of the Brown Ajah in Tower.

Elaida. She has been talking in corners with Ferane Neheran.

Kumera

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Handsome, with her hair cut short and blue eyes. She is a keen observer, hard headed and practical. A Shienaran with Cadsuane. During the fight to cleanse the taint with the Choedan Kal near Shadar Logoth, she was killed by Halima.

Marris Thornhill

Elaida. A teacher in the White Tower.

Masuri Sokawa

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Slim and merry eyed, she likes to flirt. An Arafellian, she has specialised knowledge in Dark Hounds and has studied them for many years, crossing 8 packs. She was in the Salidar Embassy to Rand. She went to Ghealdan with Perrin and is now an apprentice Wise One.

Morvrin

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Placid looking, and sometimes vague and absent. She is stout, with grey streaked hair. About as sceptical as a person can get, she would require seven forms of proof before admitting the sky was blue. She is dogged when striving towards a goal.

She joined the Tower in exile in Salidar and helped it to set up, being in Sheriam's group. She has sworn fealty to Egwene, and is astonished by this action. Her Warder is Jori.

Nesune Bihara

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, da'tsang.

Elaida. Slender Kandori with bird like black eyes. She was a part of Elaida's group and was later sent as a part of the Embassy to Rand.

Fair minded, she has a photographic memory and can find the smallest flaw if it exists. She was captured at Dumai's Wells and is now trying to meet her Toh. She has sworn fealty to Rand, and has honor and fame to come, someday founding a library.

Phaedrine

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Egwene. Lean.

Saerin Asnobar

Allegiance: The Light, The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. An Altaran daughter of an innkeeper with touches of white at the temples of her dark hair. She has olive skin except for faded white scars across her cheek and one along her jaw. She always carries a knife at her hip and is usually holding her temper barely in check. She has previously been penanced by Elaida.

Saerin has been a Sitter for forty years, and is the longest serving current Sitter. Strong in the One Power for an Aes Sedai, she is also the strongest Sitter. She was initially trained by the Daughters of Silence, but was the only one who became an Aes Sedai, although she was novice and accepted for a long time. She, Talene, Yukiri and Doesine discovered Seaine and Pevara's investigation and Saerin soon took control.

Sareitha Tomares

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Dark and stocky, in her late twenties, she is yet to acheive the ageless look. From Tear, she has brown inquisitive eyes and a square face, and looks more like a merchant. She was raised in 998 NE and was in Ebou Dar with Elayne and Nynaeve and is now in Caemlyn. She very much likes Doilan Mellar, though nobody else does.

Serafelle

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Young. Only interested in something if it has been put down in a book. She believes that Tar Valon holds only one tenth of all the world's information.

Shevan

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. Tall and thin and bony. She has previously been put to penance. She was raised to the Hall after the split.

Takima

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in exile.

Egwene. Short with long black hair to her waist and ivory skin. A forceful woman. She teaches novices and accepted the history of the White Tower and Aes Sedai. She is able to recognise a pupil at a hundred paces and remembers everything the first time. She also remembers everything she reads. She has been a Sitter for nine years and is in Lelaine's group.

Theodrin Dabei

Allegiance: The Light Egwene al'Vere, The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Willowy necked and coppery skinned. She has a graceful way of moving.

A wilder, her first trick of channeling was to make a boy want to kiss her or not. She got a block influenced by men and emotions about them. When she was 15 Sheriam arranged for Charel, a tower groom Theodrin liked, to be in the room so she could do her lessons. When Theodrin found out Charel was actually his twin sister, Marel, her block was broken.

She was an Accepted when the Tower coup occurred and went to Salidar. There she was promoted to more than Accepted but less than Aes Sedai for a while and tried to help Nynaeve break her block.

Upon being raised to Amyrlin, Egwene promoted her and Faolain to Aes Sedai. Faolain later convinced Theodrin to swear fealty to Egwene with her.

Verin Mathwin

Allegiance: The Brown Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Eadwina

Short and plump with a square faced and smooth cheeks. She has a steady voice and a touch of grey in her hair.

She can become distant, yet always aware of what is going on around her, often noticing what others miss. She is very secretive seemingly able to lie, but also absent minded. She loves to observe history in the making, and has cupboards full of observations all written in a secret script.

She was born in Far Madding, and as a young woman she was to marry Eadwin, but instead she went to the White Tower and became an Aes Sedai. Some many years later, she fell afoul of the law in Far Madding, and was strung up and flogged before being exiled.

She is often found where the action is hottest in the world being very curious, turning up to observe Rand and Perrin, when least wanted. She figured out that Rand was The Dragon Reborn before she was informed, and has been working towards her plans for seventy years. Interestingly, she last made a mistake seventy years ago. She has previously confronted channeling men.

Over the years, she has learned a complex form of compulsion, that takes a long time due to her relative weakness in the One Power. However using this, she has systematically compelled all the Aes Sedai who captured Rand into wanting to serving him and see him safely to the Last Battle. It would seem she is absolutely focussed on getting Rand to Tarmon Gai'don, perhaps capable of hurting or killing a sister who goes against this. In fact she was about to put Cadsuane to sleep, perhaps permenantly, at one time in Far Madding.

Her agenda's sometimes appear to conflict with the heroes, but she seems focused on ensuring Rand lives to fight Tarmon Gai'don. Moiraine warned Rand against her. Her entire dimeanor is an act. For more on whether she is Black Ajah.

Her Warder is Tomas, whom she has had for ten years and finds useful, at times. Her last Warder was Balinor, and it took her ten years to get over his death.

She is as strong as Merana and Alanna in the One Power and spent five years as Novice and six years as Accepted. She is about 35 to 40 years older than Merana.

Akoure

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Elaida. A stout woman, she was a member of the expedition sent by Elaida to take the Black Tower. They were led by Toveine, and were all captured by Asha'man.

Andaya

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. Thin, like a bird and timid. She has light brown hair, which is well brushed and halfway down her back. One of the best mediators in the world. From Tarabon, she was a part of Elaida's coup. She was raised to the Hall after the Tower split, being handpicked by Serancha, which is unusual. She is quite young for a Sitter.

Annoura Larisen

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

A beaked nose on a broad face with a wide mouth. She is from Tarabon with her hair in dozens of long thin dark braids. She is the advisor to Berelain.

Ashmanaille

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Lanky.

Beonin

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Pretty, with dark-honey hair and blue grey eyes that are always wide open - making her appear startled. A taraboner, she joined the Tower in exile, being part of Sheriam's group. She believes in absolute proof, making Morvrin seem gullible! Her Warder is Tervail Dura.

She has sworn fealty to Egwene, and is frightened by this.

Berisha

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Elaida. Lean and hard eyed.

Coiren Saeldain

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Elaida. She led the Tower Embassy to Rand until Galina took over the escort. Bombastic. She talks like she is making a speech and is very sure of herself.

A total of forty Aes Sedai were sent to collect Rand: six in the Embassy and the rest in the escort. Thirteen returned to the Tower, Galina was captured by the Shiado, and 26 were captured by Rand and his allies.

Evanellain

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Elaida. Very concerned with her looks and her clothes. Almost a Green. She was a member of Elaida's coup.

Kiyoshi

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Egwene. The youngest sitter and as strong in One Power as Sheriam.

Larelle Tarsi

Allegiance: The Light, The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Serene, with coppery skin and long hair with white wings. Strong in the One Power. She always managed to ask questions you least wish asked. A searcher for the newly born Dragon Reborn soon after the Aiel War. She was killed by Merean Redhill of the Black Ajah.

Marya Somares

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

She held the seat for the White Tower among the Coalition Council for the Aiel War. She was advised by Azil Mareed.

Meidani

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Tall and slender with large breasts and dark blond hair. She was sent to the Tower by Sheriam's group with 9 others to spread the story of the Red Ajah's manupulation of Logain. All ten were found out by Seaine and Pevara and are now assisting with the hunt for the Black Ajah.

She was a friend of Elaida when they were novices together. Her Warder is Leonin.

Merana Ambrey

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. She led the Embassy from the Tower in exile to Rand. She swore fealty to Rand at Dumai's Wells and has organised the bargain between the Sea Folk and the Coramoor.

From Caemlyn, her last Warder was Basan. She was 5 years a Novice and 6 years an Accepted. She has been totally shocked by the events she has been wrapped up in, and may never fully recover.

Merilille Ceandevin

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. A pale Cairhienin, who is slender and elegant with glossy black hair and large dark eyes. Merilille has been Aes Sedai for over 100 years. She was sent to Ebou Dar as an Embassy to Queen Tylin from the Tower in exile.

She has become a teacher of the Atha'an Miere, in accordance with Nynaeve and Elayne's 'bargain'. She used to be totally composed, but has taken on a wide eyed look since the lessons began.

Niande Moorwyn

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

An advisor to King Galldrian who stayed in the background. She disappeared after Galldrian's death. She had often visited the country estates of Arilyn.

She later pops up as a companion of Cadsuane at the Rebellion's gathering.

Serancha

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Head Clerk of the Gray Ajah.

The Head of the Gray Ajah. Before Pevara and Seaine were raised to Aes Sedai, they put itchoak in Serancha's shift, because she was a prig.

Tiana Noselle

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Mistress of Novices, Aes Sedai.

The Mistress of Novices in Salidar.

Varilin

Allegiance: The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in exile.

Egwene. Slender and tall with red hair. While learning to make a ter'angreal with Elayne, she turned her stone into a ball of flame that almost killed her. In Romanda's group.

Yukiri

Allegiance: The Light, The Gray Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. The small daughter of a village innkeeper, she always appears regal, but sounds common. When Yukiri wants her own way, she is very stubborn. She has been given penance by Elaida. She, Talene, Saerin and Doesine discovered Seaine and Pevara's investigation, which she has since joined.

The White Ajah - Devoted to logic and philosophy without a network of eyes and ears.

Aledrin

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in exile.

Egwene. She has dark golden hair and big brown eyes. Her smile is lovely but she has a cool voice. A Taraboner.

Ayako

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

The only White Ajah member of the expedition sent by Elaida to take the Black Tower. They were led by Toveine, and were all captured by Asha'man.

Berana

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in exile.

Egwene.

Bernaile Gelbarn

Allegiance: The Light, The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. A stocky Taraboner with a multitude of beaded braids. She was sent to the Tower by Sheriam's group with 9 others to spread the story of the Red Ajah's manupulation of Logain. All ten were found out by Seaine and Pevara and are now assisting with the hunt for the Black Ajah.

Brendas

Allegiance: White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Cool eyes and totally emotionless.

Carlinya

Allegiance: The Light, White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Pale of skin and cold of manner. She is very logical, but has no common sense. As a novice and accepted, she commited an offense once per month at the same time every month, soas not to appear to docile. She was still unable to understand why others thought her a pet.

She joined the Tower in exile in Salidar, helping to set the place up, being a part of Sheriam's group. She has sworn fealty to Egwene and is now terrified about the future.

Daigian Moseneill(in/e)

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

A plump and pale Cairhienin with a full bosom. She has long black hair and round cheeks. She is the younger daughter of a lesser house with four stripes. She spent more time as a novice and accepted than anyone else in history and received the ring and the shawl by a hair. A companion of Cadsuane with impeccible logic.

Because of her lesser strength, she is quiet and demure in the company of other Aes Sedai, yet when in the company of others, she can be as overbearing as Cadsuane. She bonded Eben Hopwil, who died near Shadar Logoth.

Ferane Neheran

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower, Head of the White Ajah.

Elaida. When the Tower split, she picked herself to be raised to the Hall. This autocratic decision is unusual and it is also unusual given that she had stepped down from the Hall only ten years earlier. She has been talking in corners with Jesse Bilal, and Suana Dragand.

Norine Dovarna

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Elaida. Large eyes and dreamy, without friends.

Sarene Nemdahl

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, da'tsang.

Elaida. A stunning Taraboner, and is as logical as she is beautiful, being surprised when people act without thinking. Her hair is braided with beads in the Tarabon fashion. She was in the Tower Embassy to Rand.

However, she has a temper that, while mostly well bottled, can flare if the conditions are right. She also loves poetry and has written a poem about Vitalien (her Warder) comparing him to dangerous, powerful and beautiful animals. She was a friend of Moiraine when a Novice and Accepted.

She was captured at Dumai's Wells, and was apprenticed to Wise Ones. She has sworn fealty to Rand.

Saroiya

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in Exile.

Egwene. She tugs her ear when in deep thought and is in Romanda's group. When Myrelle was a novice, she put a trout into Saroiya's bath.

Seaine Herimon

Allegiance: The Light, The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. She has dark eyes and thick black eyebrows. The daughter of a Lugard furniture maker, and Sitter in the Tower for 15 years. She was raised to the shawl the same year Sereille Bagand was raised Amyrlin (866 NE). She had proposed Siuan as Amyrlin. Seaine is strong willed, but often blind to the world around her.

Elaida charged her to "follow the stench of treason, no matter where it leads or how high, even to the Keeper herself" and give the findings to the Amyrlin alone. She decided to get help from her best friend Pevara, and has been joined by 3 others: Yukiri, Saerin and Doesine. She also uncovered the ten rebels sent by Sheriam's group and is using them in her search. Their first catch was Talene.

Shana

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. A woman with eyes that bulge and a rounded mouth, making her look like a fish.

Turanna Norill

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, da'stang.

Elaida. She was a part of the Tower Escort for Rand, but was captured at Dumai's Wells and bacame apprenticed to Wise Ones. She has sworn fealty to Rand.

Valinde Nathenos

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. From Illian and in the Salidar Embassy.

Velina

Allegiance: The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

From Saldaea with tilted eyes and a beaked nose. Her voice is cool and precise and high pitched. She has a fierce appearance. Totally cool and logical, she doesn't believe damane exist.

Zerah Dacan

Allegiance: The Light, The White Ajah.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Egwene. Slim with black hair and big blue eyes. She is proud and self possessed and has been Aes Sedai for approximately 50 years. She was sent by Sheriam's group to the Tower to spread the word about Logain and the Red Ajah.

However she was discovered by Seaine and Pevara. While not of the Black Ajah, she is now assisting them as she has sworn to obey their commands.

The Black Ajah - "Two thousand years ago I took my Trollocs across the world, and even among Aes Sedai

I found those who knew despair, who knew the world could not stand before Shai'tan.

For two thousand years the Black Ajah has dwelt among others, unseen in the shadows."

Alviarin Freidhen

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the White Ajah, Keeper of the Chronicles, Head of Supreme Council of Black Ajah.

Elaida. Swan necked. Cool and business like, with sharp criticisms, but always ready to have another go.

When Jarna Malari, the former head of the Black Ajah was killed by Ishamael, he raised Alviarin to the head. Since that time she has been visited by Be'lal, Lanfear and Graendal but now follows Mesaana.

She helped Elaida become Amyrlin, and became her Keeper. After the stuff ups with Rand and the Black Tower, Alviarin has taken control of Elaida.

Amico Nagoyin

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Only four years older than Egwene, she was beautiful with large dark eyes and a slender neck. She left the Tower with Liandrin's group, but was stilled when she was captured by Egwene in the Stone of Tear. She was later killed in her cell by Slayer. At the last, she insisted she had turned back to the Light.

Asne Zeramen

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah.

A Saldaean with dark tilted eyes and a bold nose, she has been an Aes Sedai for 130 years. She left the White Tower with Liandrin and regretted leaving her Warders behind when she left. Moghedien later set her to wait in Samara with Eldrith, Chesmal and Temaile. The group has since drifted to Caemlyn and is waiting for something to do. Asne has unmasked her bonds, and her Warders are now coming to meet her, including Powl who is the only Darkfriend among them.

Atuan Larisett

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah.

Elaida. A striking Taraboner, with dark hair that is brightly beaded and hangs to her waist. A teacher in the White Tower. She was the first Aes Sedai in the Tower revealed by Talene. She has no Warder.

Berylla Naron

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai.

Scrawny with thin dark braids, all with coloured beads. A very good manipulator and plotter. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien later sent her on a mission. Her current whereabouts are unknown

Chesmal Emry

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah.

Tall and handsome with dark hair and dark eyes. The most talented healer for generations and smugly arrogant, she left the White Tower with Liandrin. She later tried to capture Nynaeve for Moghedien. When Moghedien was injured by Birgitte, Chesmal Healed her. Moghedien later set her to wait in Samara with Eldrith, Asne and Temaile. The group has since drifted to Caemlyn and is waiting for something to do.

She helped put Tamra Ospenya to the question, and induced the Reds to murder Sierin Vayu because Sierin had discovered Chesmal was black. She has a passion for embroidery.

Delana Mosalaine

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower in exile.

Egwene. She has very pale hair and pale blue eyes that focus and penetrate. A very successful mediator, as both sides will agree just to stop her looking at them. She is also capable of bullying people to do what she wants. Her voice is deep and throaty with a melodious accent. She is stout but graceful.

She was a friend of Siuan before she became Amyrlin and has no Warder.

Eldrith Jhondar

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah.

Round faced and plump. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. She doesn't like cats so she removes Marillin's strays. Moghedien later set her to wait in Samara with Chesmal, Asne and Temaile, with Eldrith in charge. Although her absentmindedness ensures her authority soon disipated. The group has since drifted to Caemlyn and is waiting for something to do. Her Warder is Kennit, who is not a darkfriend.

Elza Penfell

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, da'tsang.

Elaida. A pleasant faced Andoran and a part of the Tower Escort for Rand. She is always conscious of giving due respect. She was captured at Dumai's Wells and was trying to meet her Toh. However, she has now sworn fealty to Rand suddenly believing he needed to live to see the Last Battle. During the fight to cleanse the taint with the Choedan Kal near Shadar Logoth, she managed to kill Osen'gar.

Falion Bhoda

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the White Ajah.

A long and cold face. When she was a novice, she ran away and went to Ebou Dar. She was returned to Tar Valon and became Aes Sedai. She has a measured and cool voice that could mesmerise a class of novices.

She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien later sent her on a mission to find ter'angreal in Ebou Dar with Ispan.

During the fight in the building holding the Bowl of Winds, she managed to escape. However Moridin shielded her and gave her to Mili Skane for her failure. She also has to put up with Daved as a part of her punishment.

Galina Casban

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, Head of Red Ajah, Member Supreme Council of Black Ajah, Lina.

Elaida. She has a round face, a plump mouth and long black hair. Her eyes are hard and she pouts unconciously when she is nervous. Men make her skin crawl.

Galina was a part of the Tower Embassy to Rand. After Rand was captured, Galina became the leader of the escort. She had him beaten twice per day. She was captured by the Shaido Wise Ones - whom she had tried to make a deal with - after Dumai's Wells.

Galina has been Aes Sedai for almost 90 years. She became Black five years after receiving the shawl, and has been Head of the Red Ajah for 18 to 20 years. She is second to Alviarin on the Supreme Council of Black Ajah, knowing who Alviarin is. She has had a King and Queen killed. She helped break Tamra Ospenya and Siuan Sanche and lead the circle that stilled Siuan.

After being taken by the Shaido she has been brutalised. Her attempts to escape have been punished well. She is now Lina, a well trained servant, being thoroughly broken by Therava. She is forced to obey the Shaido Wise Ones and Sevanna via the binding rod Caddar gave them. Elaida believes her dead, however she is still hoping for a rescue.

Ispan Shefar

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah.

A dark haired Taraboner. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien later sent her on a mission to find ter'angreal in Ebou Dar with Falion.

She was captured by Nynaeve with help from The Kin when they gained the Bowl of Winds. Adeleas and Vandene started interigating her, but this was cut short when Ispan had a stake driven through her heart and Adeleas had her throat cut. See the WOT FAQ for theories on this.

Jarna Malari

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah, Head of the Black Ajah.

The former Head of the Black Ajah. When she failed to find the newly born Dragon, Ishamael helped her to become enslaved within a ter'angreal no-one knew the purpose of. She died shrieking in pain over ten days.

Jeaine Caide

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah.

A swan necked and coppery skinned Domani. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien later sent her on a mission.

Joiya Byir

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the White Ajah.

Grandmotherly aged, with cool arogance and a motherly face. She left the White Tower with Liandrin and was captured by Egwene in the Stone of Tear, and later killed in her cell by Slayer.

Katerine Alruddin

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, da'tsang.

Elaida. She has wavy raven black hair to her shoulders and hard eyes. An Aes Sedai for 17 years, she has been of the black for twelve. She was a part of the Tower group who kidnapped Rand . She, Galina and Erian were the only ones who beat Rand more than once. She was captured at Dumai's Wells, but later escaped the Aiel camp by poisoning a Wise One and two Cor Darei and cutting the throat of a gai'shain.

Liandrin

Allegiance: The Dark One, Power.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of Red Ajah, da'covale.

A Taraboner, young (approx 27) and pretty with a dolls face. She has a small petulant mouth, dark eyes and dark eyebrows. Her pale honey coloured braids are set in the Tarabon fashion that brush her shoulders. She is less than a hand taller than Moiraine, and always sounds disatisfied and cold edged.

Liandrin had few friends with none outside the Red Ajah. She doesn't seem to see much difference between men and trollocs. One of the things she hates most is men looking at her, especially with lust. She is very corrupt, and liable to stoop to extreme torture to get what she wants. She is of the absolute belief that Aes Sedai are far beyond all other people and should be revered, almost as Gods.

She grew up in Tanchico, envious of those with money and power, with her father selling fruit off a barrow to feed his family. This envy has never left her. As a child, she swore the oaths of a Darkfriend. Dreaming of becoming a part of the Black Ajah, she taught herself to channel, channeling for almost a year before going to the White Tower. She doesn't consider herself a Wilder, however, despising wilders.

During her time of learning to channel, she learned a basic unreliable form of compulsion - a form that hurts the person. When she went to the White Tower, she immediately sought out Black Sisters, wanting to gain power among Darkfriends and be lord over many people (like the Chosen). She has spent many years copying nobles and learning how they talk and act to shed herself of her poor beginnings.

She attended the meeting with Ba'alzamon and many other darkfriends that Bors also attended. She sent a warded Dragkar to the residence of Adeleas and Vandene to kill Moiraine. She attempted to hand Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve over to the Seanchan. She led twelve other black sisters out of the Tower on the orders of capturing Rand and controlling him. Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve thwarted her group twice, in Tear, with the help of Mat and Juilin; and then in Tarabon without Egwene, but with the help of Egeanin, Bayle, Thom and Juilin.

After her cock-up in Tarabon, Moghedien took control of her group in Amadicia. However, Liandrin is never happy with being a servant. She looked to overpower Moghedien, but after her second attempt to beat her, she was shielded with the flow tied off so intricately that only another forsaken could unravel it. Also Moghedien used compulsion to make her want to live, always! She was broken by Temaile and left to be a scullery girl with Amellia Arene, who had no cause to like her.

When the Seanchan took Amador, she was discovered by Suroth, who had previous dealings with her. Liandrin is now da'covale, a thinly robed servant of the High Lady Suroth.

Marillin Gemalphin

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah.

Narrow faced with blue eyes and a wide nose. She is skinny with lank pale brown hair. She loves cats, always feeding strays and healing the injured ones. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien sent her on a mission to Caemlyn and she is now with Mili Skane.

Merean Redhill

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah.

Plump and motherly with grey hair. She was the Mistress of Novices under Tamra Ospenya and Aes Sedai around 200 years. Very good at finding out what you didn't want her to know, but nonetheless, she was kindly and comforting to all novices.

Strong in the One Power, she became one of the searchers for the newly born Dragon Reborn. She helped kill many of the other searchers and many of the possible candidates. She tried to kill Lan and Moiraine and did kill Diryk, Brys and Iselle. Moiraine managed to kill her with a knife in the back. All this occurred soon after the Aiel War.

Rianna Andomeran

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the White Ajah.

Black hair with a white streak above her left ear. Cold, arrogant and certain. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. Moghedien later sent her on a mission.

Talene Minly

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, Sitter in the Hall of the Tower.

Elaida. Beautiful and statuesque with golden hair and sun darkened skin. Her eyes are blue and she has a deep voice. The daughter of farmers, she was punished much as a novice, and has been penanced by Elaida even though she stood to depose Siuan. She came to the White Tower when Seaine was Accepted and was Seaine friend. Her allegiance has now been discovered through Seaine and Pevara's investigations. She has sat in the Chair of Remorse and confessed her loyalty to the Dark One.

Temaile Kinderode

Allegiance: The Dark One.

Title(s): Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah.

Large blue eyes with foxlike face that looks a bit like a child's. She left the White Tower with Liandrin. She gets immense pleasure from hurting people and causing pain - she believes in spreading pain evenly - so she got the job of torturing Amathera and also of breaking Liandrin. Moghedien later set her to wait in Samara with Eldrith, Chesmal and Asne. The group has since drifted to Caemlyn and is waiting for something to do.
