Lui non vuole che si facciano, ma sembra che i suoi editori non abbiano niente contro.
Pare anche che, legalmente parlando, se chi scrive/pubblica/usa le fanfiction non ricava soldi da queste, non c'è niente che lui possa fare (infatti il tipo per stare tranquillo demonetizza i video sull'argomento).

Bisognerebbe chiarire, la stragrande maggioranza delle fanfiction viene scritta, appunto, da fan per i fan come mero passatempo, Martin ha detto di essere contro le fanfiction "ufficiali", cioè di chi cerca di diventare scrittore facendosi pubblicare queste storie, il che è abbastanza ridicolo, secondo me, perchè in questo caso non si parla di fanfiction, ma di plagio, e par strano che Martin, che bazzica l'ambiente dell'editoria da un pò, non lo sappia.
Se poi lui non vuole che proprio la gente non usi i suoi personaggi neanche per storie scritte su carta che non lasceranno mai il cassetto di qualche scrivania, lì siamo a livello de "non toccate i miei giocattoli", e pace, è padrone anche di fare quel discorso.

Ah, ma è Preston Jacobs!
Per chi non lo sapesse, è uno dei teorici più famosi di ASOIAF, celebre in particolare per le sue teorie spesso sopra le righe. Se non erro, le sue ipotesi più note sono il Dornish Masterplan, di cui si parla qui, e Storm's End navicella spaziale.
Non ho mai visto suoi video, lo conosco solo indirettamente, ma questo progetto mi incuriosisce.

Un altro teorico molto bravo, pilastro del subreddit Asoiaf è BryndenBfish.. Comunque se parliamo di fanfiction mi sono bastate le ultime stagioni di Game of Thrones
Va detto che Preston Jacobs è molto preparato e ha una conoscenza dell'universo di Asoiaf di gran lunga superiore rispetto a quella del lettore medio... Potrebbe essere un diversivo interessante mentre aspettiamo(invano) TWOW

Amplierei ad universo Martiniano, perchè conosce molto bene tutte le opere di George, e spesso teorizza su ASOIAF anche in base ad idee che compaiono costantemente nei suoi romanzi di fantascienza

Sta roba non l'ho mai sentita. Le sue teorie non sono totalmente strambe e molte sono su base logica. Forse una estrema è quella di cui parlava anni fa, per cui Planetos sarebbe un mondo post apocalittico.
Per il resto sono cose piuttosto possibili. Le serie di video più recenti sono sull'infanzia e le origini di Daenerys e sui viaggi nel tempo di Bran.
Se non sbaglio la questione di Storm's End si ricollega in generale all'ipotesi che Planetos faccia parte della saga fantascientifica dei Mille Mondi, una cosa che GRRM ha smentito da tempo.
Poi, per l'appunto, menzionavo il Dornish Masterplan, che è forse la sua teoria meglio nota, che trovo alquanto inverosimile. Ciò non toglie, comunque, che PJ ha una notevole competenza in ambito martiniano ed è una colonna portante del fandom di ASOIAF.
Darò un'occhiata ai video su Dany e Bran.

Gente Purtroppo ci vediamo costretti a chiudere questa discussione. Abbiamo scelto fin dall'inizio di rispettare il volere dell'autore nel non favorire le fanfiction evitando quindi di parlarne.
Ovviamente nulla vieta di poterlo fare privatamente, motivo per cui non abbiamo eliminato la discussione ma lasciata l'indicazione di chi l'ha aperta perché sia eventualmente contattato privatamente.
