Ho un dubbio per quanto riguarda la profezia fatta dalla maegi a Cersei e alla sua amica da bambine. La donna aveva infatti predetto la prematura morte di Melara, la quale era poi affogata in un pozzo. Ho sempre creduto che si fosse trattato di un incidente, ma in un blog ho letto che fu invece Cersei a spingerla, per non farle rivelare la profezia della strega.

Quale delle due versioni è quella giusta?

Anche io conoscevo quest'ipotesi sulla morte di Melara, e devo ammettere che l'ho sempre trovata assai credibile... se non sbaglio, il maggiore indizio è costituito dal racconto che la cara Cersei fa a Taena di Myr, diciamo quindi che basandosi su quel racconto è probabile che sia stata proprio Cersei ad assassinare la sua amica...

(come ben sappiamo la cara Cersei è tutto fuorchè paziente e disponibile, quasi sicuramente non lo era neppure da bambina " /> )

devo ammettere che questa cosa mi è sfuggita completamente...però mi sembra un tantinello esagerato che cercei abbia ucciso una sua amica adolescente....e il movente mi sembra debolissimo

Neanche io ci avevo pensato fino a qualche mese fa, poi lessi la teoria sul forum ed effettivamente la cosa prende forma anche per un'altro motivo. Si capisce che Melara ha una cotta per Jaime e sappiamo il caratterino un po geloso di Cersei.

Inoltre nonostante la triste fine di Melara, Cersei non ha pensieri gentili per lei.

Cersei, da emerita st***a qual è in età adulta, da bambina doveva essere una pazza in cerca continua d'attenzioni. Non mi stupirei dunque della sorte toccata a Melara.

Spero tanto si rovini da sola in merito alle restanti profezie sul suo conto (mi dispiacerebbe per Tommen e Myrcella però, loro sono innocenti).

mi pare che queste sue considerazioni sul fatto che nessuno avrebbe mai dovuto venire a conoscenza di ciò siano mostrate nel POV in cui si viene a conoscenza della profezia..

è la morte della sua amica che allarma Cersei, è il primo indizio che la profezia comincia ad assumere una certa consistenza

prima di quel momento, Cersei era convinta si trattasse di fesserie belle e buone

Ho trovato questo parallelo tra Cersei quando sogna il momento che ha ricevuto la profezia e Ned quando sogna di Lyanna...

He dreamt an old dream, of three knights in white cloaks, and a tower long fallen, and Lyanna in her bed of blood. - AGoT, Eddard X (ToJ)

Two more pieces that stood out to me from that Cersei chapter, though they don't seem to have any direct counterparts to Ned's dream:

Maggy’s toothless mouth trembled at the sight of it. “Here,” she whispered, “give it here.” When Cersei offered her hand, she sucked away the blood with gums as soft as a newborn babe’s. The queen could still remember how queer and cold her mouth had been.

You stupid girl, the queen thought, angry even now. Jaime does not even know you are alive. Back then her brother lived only for swords and dogs and horses... and for her, his twin.

The newborn babe reference from the first paragraph is obvious enough, but swords, dogs and horses – does anybody remember where that parallel can be found? It's a Last Hero reference.

The linguistic similarities between these two dreams are undeniable. But why? What is GRRM trying to tell us? It took me a while to figure it out, but I think I did.

The trick was to view Cersei's dream as the template. This is a counter intuitive idea, since we read about Ned's ToJ dream in the first book. But once you do this the next step is to ask what was going on in her dream?

Cersei was dreaming of a prophecy told to her by Maggy the Frog, who is described as a woods witch in Cersei I. This was my Aha! moment, because the series contains at least one other known woods witch prophecy.

“Your [Dany's] grandsire commanded it. A woods witch had told him that the prince was promised would be born of their line.”

- Ser Barristan from: ADwD, Daenerys IV

So, my conclusion is that Ned's ToJ dream is more than we thought it was. Not only does it convey to us information about Jon's parentage and legitimacy – though let's not argue about that here – it's a dream about the time in which Ned's life became intertwined with the prophecy of the Prince that was Promised.

Now, many have already connected Promise me, Ned to tPtwP prophecy, so that's nothing new. The addition here, is that the events at the ToJ are tangled up in prophecy, and that's what GRRM was trying to tell us with the linguistic similarities he used in both dreams.

I'll leave you with the final lines of Ned's ToJ dream:

È in inglese ma l'ho trovata davvero interessante...

In pratica afferma poi anche che il Valoqar (non so come si scrive) , siccome significa ultimo figlio in alto Valyriano, possa indicare che sarà Jon, in quanto il più piccolo dei figli di Rhaegar ad ucciderla, giustificando così anche la scelta della lingua, alto valyriano è legato profondamente ai Targaryen...e quindi non sta ad indicare Tyrion, il suo fratello più piccolo....

Io comunque ho pensato si riferisse ad Arya o Rickon, non credo che Tyrion ucciderà altri Lannister...

Spererei tanto in Arya...parallelismo interessante comunque.

Se non muoiono tutti prima io credo che finirà per uccidere almeno Cercei...

Secondo me è molto probabile invece, dato quel che ci è stato detto sulle profezie ..il fatto stesso che Cersei ne sia l'artefice la rende vera e non infallibile allo stesso tempo....

A dire la verità, vi è una teoria sul fatto che il Valonqar, possa essere Sandor Clegane... Cersei ha scelto Strong quale campione nel duello del Credo...

Se, come si dice Sandor fosse ancora vivo, sarebbe il campione del credo. Il mastino dice piu' volte di volere uccidere il fratello, potrebbe essere questa la giusta situazione!! e Sandor è il fratello minore di Ser Gregor aka Robert Strong. Altrimenti il fratello minore potrebbe essere Jaime, dato che comunque è nato dopo Cersei... Credo che il povero Tyrion non c'entri piu' nulla!
